Slow Down
Sometimes in life we get so wrapped up in the high-speed pace of life we forget to slow down and enjoy life. We’re taught growing up to figure out the future without noticing the present. Life is so full of opportunities that will pass us by if we don’t take the time to appreciate and seize them. Sometimes it takes going out of your way to appreciate life and if you don’t you’ll regret it. Look out the window. Take the long scenic drive. Be spontaneous. The best things in life are unknown and long to be discovered, that’s what makes them so special. What makes these things so crucial is that they help build character. On these beaten paths is where we can discover ourselves and delve deep into self-evaluation without the input of others. You get the opportunity to see not just the world in a new light and appreciation, but yourself as well. Sure it’s easier to just zip by life not dealing with your problems or the problems around you, in which you have an impact, but it comes with a price. Things will never change, they’ll only get worse. Hatred will fester, hope for change diminishes, love will slowly fade, and genuine happiness will soon be forgotten. So seize the day in its entirety. Change for the better the things you can. Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you leaving out not one detail. Compliment everyone you can. Most importantly, slow down and enjoy life.
